Google has updated its statistics on the prevalence of various versions of the Android operating system on the official site for Android developers Developers. Figures for the week ended September 11, 2017.
The Android version is Nougat made up of 15.8% increasing the share by 2.3% compared with August results. The share of Android Nougat 7.1 is 1.6%, and pure Android 7.0 Nougat of 14.2%.
The most popular version of the OS remains Android 6.0 Marshmallow to replace a couple of months ago from the pedestal Lollipop. Version Marshmallow slightly reduced the share to 32.2 percent, following a 0.1% share of the Lollipop fell from 29.2% to 28.8%. Note that Android Lollipop has held leadership from March 2016 to may 2017.
In third place is KitKat with 15.1% which is less by 0.9% compared with the previous month. Jelly Bean received 6.9%, down 0.7%. Version Ice Cream Sandwich and Gingerbread, which debuted in December 2010 and in October 2011, a 0.6%, reducing the share by 0.1%.
Just for comparison, fresh mobile operating system Apple iOS 10, released in September of 2016 is already installed on 89% of active devices. The release is the Android Nougat was held in August 2016. The latest version of Android Oreo, which was released in late August, while in the statistics table is not specified, that says the proportion is less than 0.1%.
